Catering and Activities

Supporting focus, clarity and purposeful time together.

Hospitality Designed to Support Performance

Food at Barton Court is carefully considered as part of the overall retreat experience. Meals are designed to sustain energy, encourage conversation and support clear thinking across the day.

We collaborate with chef Felice Tocchini, whose approach combines technical excellence with a deep understanding of seasonal produce. All catering is delivered on site and aligned with the rhythm of your programme — from arrival refreshments through to working lunches, dinner and breakfast.

Menus are agreed in advance and can be tailored to dietary requirements and the structure of your retreat. Service remains attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing teams to remain focused on their objectives.

Wine is served with dinner as part of residential formats, with selections chosen to complement the menu. Additional beverages can be arranged according to your preferences.

How catering is integrated

• Arrival refreshments prepared and ready on arrival
• Working lunches designed for efficiency and ease
• Structured evening dining to allow informal discussion
• Breakfast prepared to support the day ahead
• Snacks and refreshments available as required

Everything is delivered within the estate to ensure continuity, privacy and simplicity.

ACTIVITIES

Optional Activities to Complement Your Programme

At certain points in a retreat, stepping away from structured discussion can strengthen perspective and restore energy. The estate and surrounding countryside provide space for informal walking conversations and quiet reflection.

For teams seeking something more structured, we can arrange selected activities through trusted local partners. These are offered as optional additions and are chosen to complement — rather than distract from — the purpose of your gathering.

Examples include:

Reflective & Outdoor Activities

Guided countryside walks, foraging experiences

Facilitated Experiences

Cookery challenges, tasting sessions

Wellbeing Support

Yoga, Pilates, therapeutic massage (by arrangement)

Entertainment and Evening Options

If appropriate to your programme, informal evening entertainment can also be arranged. This may include tastings, demonstrations or facilitated sessions designed to encourage relaxed conversation without shifting the focus of your stay.

Catering and optional activities at Barton Court are integrated thoughtfully into the overall structure of your retreat — ensuring that hospitality enhances, rather than interrupts, the work being undertaken.
