About Barton Court
This privately owned Barton Court Estate comprises the Manor House, a collection of restored barns and adjoining estate buildings, all set within enclosed grounds on the Herefordshire–Worcestershire border.
It is not a hotel or conference centre. Instead, the manor house and its ancillary buildings provide contained, exclusive space for gatherings seeking privacy, room and an uplifting environment in which to work.
The site holds over a thousand years of history, from its 11th-century dovecote (an Ancient Monument) to the renovated 20th century agricultural buildings that now house seminar and meeting rooms.
The estate was in single-family ownership for over 130 years before being acquired and restored by James Meyer and Linda Camp. The renovation and stewardship of the estate continues. There is always something to do or to improve.
Located behind high walls and hedges, Barton Court offers privacy without isolation. Colwall station, with direct trains to London and Birmingham, is one mile away, and the motorway network is easily reached.
The Manor House
The Manor House was - and is - at the heart of the estate and provides the majority of the accommodation for residential retreats.
Light, airy and full of interesting architectural features, it is both comfortable and elegant.

Additional Estate Accommodation
Further bedrooms are available within adjoining estate buildings, allowing larger groups to remain on site while retaining privacy and separation where required.
These buildings sit within the same enclosed grounds, maintaining the sense of being in one place rather than a dispersed venue.
Additional Accommodation
The Barns
The Dutch Barn and Saw Mill provide flexible meeting spaces with The Dutch Barn accommodating larger group sessions.
The Saw Mill offers breakout and workshop configurations.
Both buildings have been adapted for professional use while retaining their original character.

Grounds
The estate is enclosed by walls and mature hedging.
The grounds allow informal discussion, outdoor sessions and time away from the table between working periods.

Infrastructure and sustainability
There superfast WiFi throughout the entire property which ensures reliable and secure connectivity to the outside world.
Biomass heating, solar generation and borehole water systems have all been installed to conserve resources and reduce reliance on unsustainable fossil fuels. Two EV chargers have also been installed to support those guests who have embraced electric motoring. We do have ample on-site parking but for those preferring to reduce their carbon footprint. Colwall station is only one mile away and has direct services from London and Birmingham.
Barton Court is something of a nature reserve. It welcomes an annual migration of house martins every year whose nests are visible under the eaves of the main house. Many rare birds and butterflies can be observed here since the estate has - as an essential part of its renovation process - a policy of planting flowers and shrubs that attract and support a variety of wildlife. To that end we have replanted the old orchard and created a wild flowermead iin the field over the bridge.
